Together, representatives from the Government, Local Authorities, Residents Associations, parties from the world of economics, pilots and aviation companies have researched what the role and purpose of Cannes-Mandelieu Airport should be.
The result of many meetings, listening and discussing, the White Paper expresses the parties’ vision on the airports positioning.
 The primary purpose of Cannes-Mandelieu, an airport dedicated to general aviation is:
1 To receive aircraft linked to tourism and conference activities in the Cannes area.
2 To accommodate public service assignments such as emergencies involving people and fighting forest fires.
3 To develop the aviation culture in association with the flying clubs and companies in the sector.
4 To accommodate aircraft and helicopter maintenance companies.
5 To receive helicopter flights as part of the transfer of air passengers. |
 The purpose of Cannes-Mandelieu is not :
1 To receive scheduled commercial flights (which are dealt with by Nice Côte d’Azur Airport).
2 To receive helicopter activities not connected to maintenance or the transfer of air passengers.
3 To accommodate acrobatic aviation activities and micro light aircraft activities.
4 To accommodate introductory flights, gliding or parachute jumps.
5 To receive aircraft carrying out aerial advertising. |
