Listening to Residents ! |

A biannual survey with residents was conducted by the BVA institute in early 2007
(1006 residents in the Cannes-Mandelieu Airport area questioned). Next survey January 2009.
The environment, a new priority

Safety Jobs Environment
With an increase of 23 points in comparison to 2003, the environment is one of the priorities to be sorted
generally in the years to come. The BVA emphasise that this trend is not confined to the residents in the area of
Cannes-Mandelieu Airport, but reflects a national concern.
Disturbances most affecting our residents

Motorbikes Cars Heavy goods vehicles Airplanes
The order of the disturbances experienced in the towns bordering the airport remains identical to previous years. Airplanes are in fourth place, cited by one in five residents. A slight rise is noted in comparison to other years which must not be ignored.
The airport’s image and its development

The survey revealed a good image of Cannes-Mandelieu Airport. This has even improved since 2003 (date of the signing of the Environmental Charter). This trend is explained due to the regular information received by residents and also through the increased interest of residents in environmental matters which makes these results all the more significant.
What is the economic impact?

The positive economic impact of Cannes-Mandelieu airport is now recognised. In fact, more than 8 out of 10 people interviewed estimate that the airport has an impact as much on a regional development level as in the creation of jobs.

The Airport, its environmental and economic impact

57% of residents living around Cannes-Mandelieu airport estimate that the airport is doing its utmost to reduce noise pollution. Despite a high percentage, this has reduced in comparison to the first survey in 2003. With regards the consideration given to residents’ requests, one in two estimate that they are taken into consideration. There are differences noticed between the towns: the majority of inhabitants in Mougins, Roquette sur Siagne and Mouans-Sartoux think that the airport doesn’t take residents’ requests into consideration enough.
Sufficient information ?

Many residents think that they do not get enough information from the airport, and in particular the areas of Roquette sur Siagne, de Mandelieu and Mouans-Sartoux. 40% would like more information, and information on the development of the activity and disturbances generated.
