The development of aviation practice and instruction

Even if the main purpose of an airport is still to manage the movements of airplanes and helicopters, it can also provide other functions vital to its region including an area dedicated to aviation training. Strengthening the airport’s role as a training location for aviation jobs in addition to the traditional educational systems, has become a new aim for Cannes-Mandelieu Airport.

Traditionally this role lies with the pilot schools and is due to the presence of IFAERO (Institut de formation aéronautique / Institute of Aviation Training) on the airport site, whose objective is to position itself as a benchmark institution for aviation jobs (engineering, crew, baggage handling, management, etc.).
